A lot of us are taught to save, save, save and never to
spend, spend, spend. And, honestly, that’s pretty solid advice. However, it
doesn’t mean that you should never
enjoy your money. You work hard for it, so it’s important not to be too frugal.
After all, life is short, right?
Unfortunately, a lot of Americans don’t see it that way.
Wells Fargo recently conducted a survey of “wealthy” Americans, and a whopping
15% admitted to not really enjoying their money. That’s pretty sad!
Your money is yours; it’s the culmination, the pay-off for
your hard work and sweat, so you definitely should be enjoying it here and
there. Of course, that’s not to say you should just go crazy and spend like a
fiend, but a little splurge here and there isn’t so bad.
You should save money, yes. You should also invest money,
and, if it’s important to you, you should also leave something behind for your
loved ones after you die. But, if those things are taken care of, and there’s
still some left over, why not take that trip you’ve always wanted to take or
buy the car or house of your dreams? After all, doing things with your loved
ones while you’re still here and enjoying your life while you still have it is,
at the end of the day, more important than having a huge chunk of money saved
up that you never spent or used for anything fun.
