Take Advantage of At-Work Tuition Reimbursement Programs

Did you know that some companies offer tuition reimbursement programs? These are programs that basically reward employees for going to school and getting an education. In most cases, the employee has to pay for the cost of schooling upfront, but, after successful completion of the semester, the employer will pay some, or, in some cases, even all of the tuition costs.

Of course, not every company that offers tuition reimbursement is the same. Some companies will only reimburse for classes that are relevant to the work the employee performs or will perform in the future. Others only reimburse students who do their coursework through particular schools. There are also some companies that require employees to stay employed with the company for a certain amount of time following completion of the coursework. Some companies even require the student to earn a certain grade point average.

As you can see, there is wide variation when it comes to how the at-work tuition program is implemented within a particular company, but honestly, just the fact that a company has one is great and shows that it values its employees and wants to make their lives better. As such, if you are thinking of returning to school, then you’ll definitely want to look for work that can offer you help with footing the bill!

Believe it or not, some very well-known companies actually offer tuition reimbursement programs. These include big-name companies, such as:

l  Starbucks
l  UPS
l  Home Depot
l  Smucker’s
l  AT&T
l  Proctor and Gamble
l  Anthem Inc.
l  Ford

Of course, these are just a few of many companies that offer tuition reimbursement programs. Many other companies, both large and small, do the same, so if access to this program is important to you, do your research and apply at companies that offer this great benefit. You’d be surprised at just how much it can help to cut the costs associated with college!
