The University of California’s Hastings College of Law
recently hosted its annual financial planning event. All who attended were
invited to enjoy free financial services and advice from top experts in the
field. Surprisingly, the topic most commonly brought up by attendees was estate
planning. Event hosts felt that the popularity of this topic speaks to an
improving economy and to the fact that people are feeling more hopeful about
their financial futures than ever before.
In past years, the focus of the meetings have tended to be
more on avoiding debt, managing debt, and stopping or preventing foreclosure.
Of course, this isn’t to say that all 500 event attendees didn’t have concerns
on these topics; event organizers also say there was a lot of talk about
retirement and general investing as well.
